BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND - OUR HEADLINER

"STEPHON", the first Christian comedian to perform for Gospel Giggles with his unique style of humor when we started in March, 2006.
A Christian Comedian and the son of a preacher, "STEPHON" learned early how to see the "funny" in everyday life situations. His life experiences helped him to appreciate a good joke and the joy of making others laugh. He knew he would someday make a career out of helping people -- experience joy. Stephon’s pursuit of Christian comedy began to take him to a higher road for God’s glory. He decided that instead of just performing in nightclubs and comedy clubs, he would begin to go where his ministry and audience needed him. Stephon began to minister through comedy for churches and faith-based venues throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Georgia, Florida and Wisconsin and has opened up for various established comedians such as Jonathan Slocumb, Chocolate, Ron Baker, Jr. and Small Frie. By January 2005, Stephon had ministered to over 100 of churches throughout the United States with his unique style of comedy." He creates a clear example of what the Bible means when it says "a merry heart doeth good like medicine". He has been cited as "one of the most exciting and talented Christian comedians on the circuit today".

FEATURING:

Tamara Jackson aka "MOTHER JENKINS"

"MOTHER JENKINS" has been putting the "holy" in ha-ha since 1998, when Tamara Jackson began using the character to express her unique brand of Christian comedy at her home church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tamara states that Mother Jenkins first came on the scene at her church's weekly Bible study. Every week before and after the lesson, she would tell jokes, and people loved it. In both December 1998 and 1999, Mother Jenkins was written into the church Christmas play as a character. In February of 2000, her pastor decided Mother Jenkins should make a surprise guest appearance before the sermon at regular morning service. That was her first "stand-up" comedy appearance as Mother Jenkins. Mother Jenkins just "took off" from there. Others heard about her, and she began ministering as Mother Jenkins in other churches, community and entertainment events. She has opened for and/or appeared on programs with such Gospel greats as Donnie McClurkin, Vickie Winans, Mary Mary, Shirley Murdock and the Bobby Jones Gospel Artist Retreat.

"VIRTUOUS"

Gospel Artist "VIRTUOUS" aka Ralonda Tooles, is the mother of a 9 year old daughter, Majesty, and a 6 year old son, Zacchaeus.  She is the oldest of five siblings and is blessed that both her mother & father are still in the land of the living. Manifested Glory Ministries, Inc. is the church house where she is a soldier under the leadership of Pastor Derrick J. Smith.  He has been an advisor in spiritual and personal endeavors. He and his wife along with the MGM family has encouraged her to step out and Virtuous states "I know with God, all things are possible!"  Reading and writing God's word has shown Virtuous how to write all the lyrics and co-produce a few tracks off her CD "WARCRY" which was released in June 2007! She has been blessed to have shared the stage with and opened up for a few artists. She has met and collaborated with various national and local recording artists such as Teresa Teri Neva Stop Praz'n, EMI Gospels' K-Drama and Everett Moore; performed at I Hear Music in the Air Gospel Showcase and even won New York's 2005 Tiffany Gospel Music Award for best Rhythm & Praise single for "My Testimony".  Her first time in New York was because she won an award for "What God has Done for Me!" Virtuous states "all this is cool but it means nothing to me, if souls aren't being changed and lives aren't being saved."

COMEDIAN JOEY I.L.O.
JOEY AIELLO
(known as Joey I.L.O. to his fans) is no stranger to the stage.  He started performing as a musician when he was 11 years old.  He performed, wrote songs, and toured heavily throughout the United States .  In 2001 he released two albums.  He has toured nationally with a wide variety of performance groups and has enjoyed great success.  At age 26, he retired from his thriving music career to focus his energy on the comedy scene.  After his first comedy show, he had found his niche. His unique approach to clean-comedy was an untapped industry. Joey took the stage for the first time as a comedian at the New Union, (Club 3 Degrees).  His energy, charisma, and rapport with the crowd made him an instant sensation.  Since that day, many national personalities have requested Joey to perform at numerous events all over the country.  During his fifth stand-up performance, he opened for Jonathan Slocumb, a nationally recognized comedian and close associate of Chris Tucker, and received a standing ovation!  He's been going non-stop ever since!  He is currently on tour with Horace "HB" Sanders and Akintunde, who in their words state "with Joey I.L.O. you will produce an awesome show!"

COMEDIAN LENA

Comedy discovered Lena in 1997. From the initial connection, the free-spirited, frolic filled festivity until now, the relationship has been nothing less than scintillating.  Lena is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she majored in side-spitting, hard hitting shows, but received her degree in Sociology, with an emphasis on law, criminology, social welfare, and juvenile delinquency.  Subsequently, her manifold educational and cultural experiences contribute to the diverse, provocative, insightful, yet expletive free performances.  With the determination of a comedic soldier, Lena engineered and founded Crying Laughter Productions, a minority based organization committed to promoting higher education through comedy.  She has performed on a multitude of stages in front of varied age, ethnic, and social groups as well as Canadian television channels.  By in large, these experiences and an inexhaustible determination has lent itself to professional relationships and performances with D.L. Hughley, CoCo , Horace H. B. Sanders and Mike Bonner.  Comedy is one of the very special and universal gifts that Lena offers to us all, however, her gifts extend far beyond those gifts that she presents on stage.  She is also a writer, director, and educator.  She has written and directed three plays and as a result of her comedic talents, she was asked to appear as a guest lecturer at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
